About the cable car

A tourism project established in Ajloun under the Jordan Free & Development Zones Group to the highest international standards. The tender was awarded in 2020 to the Austrian company Doppelmayr Garaventa at a total cost of around 11 million JOD.

After three years of continuous work, the cable car opened in June 2023 with a 2.5 km route in each direction between the main visitor station near Ajloun Castle and the Ishtafina station; the round trip takes about 20 minutes. The system currently has 40 cabins, each seating 8 passengers, and is fully accessible to all ages, seniors and people with disabilities, with safe wheelchair paths for a comfortable boarding experience.

Telefreek Ajloun is one of the region’s landmark attractions, offering visitors an exceptional chance to enjoy the stunning hills and mountains around Ajloun and escape the bustle of daily life.

Your ticket covers a round trip from Station 1 in the Ishtafina forests to Station 2 near Saladin’s castle — about 20 minutes.
