The annual Cable Car summer festival, Summerric in Teleferic, launched under the patronage of the Mayor of Greater Ajloun Municipality, Mr. Hamza Al-Zghoul.
The Director General of the Development Zones, Yousef Arafat, said the festival, which runs until the 17th of this month, includes many activities, events and programmes, with 60 exhibitors of food products, handicrafts and antiques.
He noted that visitors can enjoy a distinctive virtual reality (VR) experience, archery games suitable for all ages, and portrait drawing in charcoal or colour with the well-known artist Ramzi Al-Masri.
Arafat added that the Amo Hammam troupe will perform for all ages throughout the festival, alongside a music band suited to family gatherings, and the marching band of the Orthodox Church in Ajloun on Mondays and Wednesdays.
There will also be a book fair organised by the Jordanian Publishers Union, and recreational helicopter tours over the governorate's landmarks on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival. The festival will also include a ceremony honouring the Knights of Nature, organised by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, represented by the Ajloun Forest Reserve.
As part of its social responsibility, the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group is offering a 25% discount on entry and ride tickets at the Ajloun Cable Car resort for all this year's Tawjihi students in the Kingdom, from tomorrow, Sunday, until Thursday 15/08/2024, as part of the Summerric festival; students must bring their seat number.
Lana Al-Hafez, marketing officer at IRADA, said the bazaar complements the bazaars IRADA organises every year in the north, centre and south of the Kingdom. This one is dedicated to projects from the north, aiming to develop local communities, improve living conditions and help reduce poverty and unemployment through small and medium enterprises.
She said 60 projects from the northern region are taking part over 9 days – 20 projects every 3 days – in handicrafts, national and traditional heritage, and food products tested in the laboratories of the Royal Scientific Society.
The Director of the Ajloun Development Zone, Ezzeddin Al-Momani, said the zone is keen to take part in events organised by different institutions and to support women and youth and provide job opportunities that promote development.
The bazaar is open from 11 am to 7 pm, starting yesterday (Friday) and running until 17/8/2024.
